We have have been very busy preparing for our next retreat in beautiful San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for Day of the Dead, 2015. Our progressive workshop this year will culminate in a three- dimensional Santos figure. Each year the instructors get together at each of their homes to teach the workshop that they will be doing in Mexico. This is helpful to both complete the project themselves and to make the learning experience better for participants.
Here are a few examples of our Santos:
There are so many personalities that come out when sculpting these wonderful "characters" and we can't wait to see what students come up with this year! The faces will be sculpted in Lynn Leahy's class while the mid-section/torso and arms will be done in Helen Shafer Garcia's class. The base portion using polymer clay will be taught in Laurie Mika's class and the metal crowns, wings and trim pieces will be completed in this year's first guest instructor, Elitia Hart's class.
Looking forward to seeing you soon! Hasta luego!
